Ryan seals deal late for Brigid's
ST BRIGID'S 0-15 SKERRIES HARPs0-13 (After Extra-time)
KEITH BARR was in the crowd. Emyln Mulligan was in the white boots.
Chanel was gleaming in the Saturday evening sunshine. And the game was within seconds of providing the shock of the season.
It was only an exquisite injury-time point from Philly Ryan that foiled the Harps of a famous victory and sent the match to extra-time.
Trailing by 0-7 to 0-5 at the break, Harry Dawson's free had given Skerries the lead on 52 minutes. A gorgeous Jack Smith point put them two in front with five minutes left.
Lorcan McCarthy converted a 57th minute free before Ryan's elegant equaliser. It was 0-11 apiece at the close of normal time.
Two Mulligan frees, plus a Paddy Andrews point from play, saw Brigid's lead by 0-14 to 0-11 at half-time in extra-time.
Colin Lynch then gave them a four point advantage, but Donnacha Reilly struck two late points for heroic Harps.
