Six Nations on the line

ireland women

The Irish Women are right smack in the middle of the shake-up for the Six Nations title as they go to Scotland for Sunday's championship decider in Cumbernauld (Live RTE2 1.0).

France and Ireland are level on three wins from four rounds with the French holding a lead of 20 in the vital category of points-difference.

However, the Scots have lost by an average of 32.5 points-per-game with France having to play away to world champions England.

On this occasion, Ireland will benefit from an unfair system in which they will know exactly what they will need as the last match of the three this weekend.

Coach Tom Tierney will drill down on the basics, pushing the creeping of scores rather than all-out attack.

This is where the goal-kicking of captain Niamh Briggs will be the foundation block of building towards the title.

VERDICT: Ireland
