Sexton, Heaslip and O'Driscoll sign new deals
Jonathan Sexton, Jamie Heaslip and Brian O'Driscoll have all signed new deals with the Irish Rugby Football Union and committed their futures to Leinster.
Sources close to the players have calmed fears that Heaslip and Sexton were about to move abroad to France for the greater financial rewards on offer at clubs like their former coach Michael Cheika's Stade Francais.
There were reports that Sexton and Heaslip would fall for reputed annual salaries of up to €500,000. While the IRFU cannot afford the vast sums on offer outside this country, the pair must be within striking distance of €400,000.
The additional contract extension of O'Driscoll, Ireland's greatest ever player, is just the icing on the cake and further indication of the excellent work being carried out by current Leinster coach Joe Schmidt.
All three have alluded to what Heaslip called the "special things" happening as Leinster face into a Heineken Cup quarter-final against Leicester as favourites.
