Ross ready to answer Ireland's call
IRISH prop Mike Ross has issued a rallying call to his team-mates on the eve of the World Cup and wants a return to winning ways against the US Eagles this Sunday.
Ross expects Eddie O'Sullivan's charges to be highly physical and motivated on the tenth anniversary of 9/11.
"We're not kidding ourselves that the USA will be a pushover, the days of waiting until the 60th minute and cutting loose are gone," he said. "We expect them to be especially motivated by the day that's in it.
"I think there's a communal feeling that we let ourselves down in the summer series, and a real eagerness to get back to winning ways."
His Leinster and Ireland front-row partner Cian Healy will not play this weekend after failing to recover in time from his eye injury, with 20-year-old Conor Murray expected to make his first start at scrum-half.
