Reilly gets ball rolling
AFTER defeats by Wales and France, the Irish ladies opened their Six Nations account in style with a stunning 40-10 win over Italy at Ashbourne last night.
Ireland were quick out of the blocks when player of the match Mary Louise Reilly bulldozed her way over the Italian line.
Niamh Kavanagh and Joy Neville were next to go over as Ireland turned the screw but Cristina Molic pulled a try back for Italy before the break, as Ireland were down to 14 players following Ailis Egan's sinbinning, to leave the score at 21-7 at the interval.
Scrum-half Amy Davis then scored after a fine break from Alison Miller and Jennifer Murphy (pictured) added a fifth try as Ireland ran out comfortable winners.
