Rabo Pro12 Previews: Ian Humphreys to become Ulster centurion
Ian Humphreys will become an Ulster centurion tonight (KO7.35, BBCNI) as they continue their march to the top of the table.
It will take a comprehensive, collective effort to wipe out a Scarlets outfit still smarting from turning almost certain victory into a draw at Munster last week.
There is a thread of quality running through the home selection from forwards Franco van der Merwe, Wiehahn Herbst, Dan Tuohy and Nick Williams back to Ruan Pienaar, Darren Cave and Craig Gilroy.
Ulster: L Ludik; C Gilroy, D Cave, L Marshall, M Allen; I Humphreys, R Pienaar; C Black, R Herring, W Herbst, D Tuohy, F Van der Merwe, R Wilson (capt), C Ross, N Williams.
Scarlets: J Williams; H Robinson, R King, H Parkes, M Tagicakibau; S Shingler, A Davies; P John, K Owens (capt), P Edwards, G Earle, L Rawlins, A Shingler, J Davies, J Barclay.
Connacht: Europe still calls for Lam
It would be negligent in the extreme for Connacht to go to the bother of beating The Dragons at Rodney Parade and come up short at home to Treviso on Sunday (KO5.15, TG4).
At present, Pat Lam's men hold sixth spot, the automatic Champions Cup place, in what has turned into a three-club race with The Scarlets two points behind and Edinburgh four back.
Connacht will be guided by the fact they have lost their last two in Galway to Exeter Chiefs in the Challenge Cup and Edinburgh in the PRO12.
They have a positive record against Treviso, losing just one of their last five.erdict: Connacht.
