Murphy doubt for English tie

Mike Ruddock could be without one of his most experienced players as Ireland open their U20 Junior World Championship campaign against England in Italy on Friday, with Jordi Murphy in a race against time to be fit.

The Lansdowne flanker, who played in last year's championship in Argentina, is suffering from an ankle injury and is doubtful for the clash with the U20 Grand Slam winners in Treviso.

"Jordi suffered an ankle strain in a warm-up match against Leinster and he has not been able to train since. If he recovers in the next day or two, we will drop him in and he will be in contention," said Ruddock.
