PAUL O'CONNELL has been given leave to start just his second match in the PRO12 League this season.

There will be a debut for South African wing Gerhard van den Heever, while Keith Earls, James Downey and Ian Keatley return from injury.

The underestimated Welsh club caused the shock of the season by throttling Glasgow 23-9 at Scotstoun last Friday night. Munster coach Rob Penney will have taken heed of the message.

Take the Dragons for granted at a risk to your personal safety. The leaders have built their four-point lead over the Ospreys on solid rather than spectacular outcomes, winning seven out of eight, including five straight.

Verdict: Munster

The Dragons: D Evans; W Harries, P Leach, R Wardle, M Pewtner; J Tovey, R Rees; O Evans, S Parry, F Chaparro, C Hill, R Sidoli (capt), L Evans, N Cudd, N Talei.

Munster: F Jones; G van den Heever, K Earls, J Downey, D Hurley; I Keatley, D Williams; D Kilcoyne, M Sherry, S Archer, D O'Callaghan, P O'Connell, B Holland (capt), CJ Stander, J Coughlan.
