Midlands hopefuls make case for a place in Horgan defence

The Midlands have just announced a 36-player training squad in preparation for the defence of the Shane Horgan Inter-Area Cup won in such style this season.

Representing six clubs, the players will train together developing their skills, strength, conditioning and game understanding over the summer in Aspire, Clara before the squad is reduced at the start of next season.

The Midlands also wish to announce the appointment of Rab Berry (Mullingar) as manager of the Player Development Programme across the region.

The players selected are:

Birr RFC - Billy Connors, Conor Fitzgerald, Cathal Hogan, Jack Kennedy, Graham Lynch.

Edenderry RFC - Isaac Cairns, Lesley Cronin, Peter Connolly, Shane Dunning, Mark Rushe.

Longford RFC - Cillein Farrell, Paul Hughes, Thomas Kennedy, George McDermott, Peter Mimnagh.

Midland Warriors RFC - Daniel Buckley, Billy O'Hara, Karl Picard.

Mullingar RFC - Cathal Burke, Arthur Brabazon, Andrew Coade, Killian Daly, Eoghan Gantly, Niall Hannon, Neil Harrison, Anthony McGibney, Jack Mills, David O'Reilly.

Tullamore RFC - Cian Byrne, Senan Carroll, Karl Dunne, Leon Martin, Gary Pyke, Kevin Robbins, David Graham, Killian Rusk.
