McFadden injury is not as bad as I feared - O'Connor
Fergus McFadden (above) will be out of action for about six weeks.
When the Leinster wing was stretchered from The Aviva Stadium on Saturday, there were fears that he had suffered a serious, long-term injury. It is not the case.
"He's got a pretty significant ankle sprain and a little tweak to a medial ligament in his knee.
"But it's not nearly as bad as we first thought," said Leinster coach Matt O'Connor.
It does, however, mean McFadden will be unavailable for the opening two rounds of Leinster's Rugby Champions Cup, starting against Wasps on Sunday week.
His rehabilitation process will also take him outside the window of opportunity that opens up for the November international series against South Africa, Georgia and Australia.
