McEntee's men need to put their Pont' across early

THE key to Leinster's success in this competition has been in replicating the exact style used by their senior counterparts. They are all on the same page.

Donnybrook, Sunday 2.0

"It is important for Leinster Rugby that we get the right result," said coach Colin McEntee.

"It will keep the season alive for players who could come into contention at the back end of the PRO12 League or the Heineken Cup."

If Leinster can take Pontypridd off their feet early on and convert chances created, this could be a relatively comfortable afternoon's work.

If Leinster cannot put distance between themselves and the Welsh club, they could be dragged into the trenches and that is no place to be against Pontypridd.

This is what happened in the last Pool match against London Welsh where the physical maturity of the visitors placed undue pressure on Leinster, given the number of chances the hosts spurned in the first half.

This is all part of the learning process. There are three Irish provinces left in the competition with Munster A and Ulster Ravens set to clash at Ravenhill tonight.
