Mary's defence begins late against Bective

THE World Cup dream may be over, but we can all get back to grassroots and support our clubs.

In the Junior 1 League, a late withdrawal from the division by 'Rock meant Mary's must wait until this Sunday to begin their title defence against Bective in Templeville. Bective lost last Monday, while 'Tarf edged out UCD. This weekend UCD face Trinity in College Park and Lansdowne head to Belvo.

In Section 'B' Pool 1 Old Wesley had a big win over Naas. 'Stones beat Sutton, while Seapoint earned a bonus point win.

This weekend DLSP host Sutton, Wesley host Seapoint and Naas head to Greystones. In Pool 2 there were bonus-point wins for Terenure and Barnhall.

Meanwhile, in Junior 2, Pool 1, UCD earned a first win, while Lansdowne drew with Mary's.

In Junior 3 Section 'A' Wesley and Belvo drew and Terenure got a bonus-point win. Lansdowne also bagged the bonus, while Mary's won.

In Section 'B', I predict a big score for Clontarf against the Surgeons. Naas had to concede a walkover to DLSP last week while Trinity and Barnhall won.

In the U21 JP Fanagan Trinity and UCD got off to bonus point wins.
