Little consolation for Ireland in Fekitoa ban
Ireland will take little consolation from the one-week suspension of All Black Malakai Fekitoa.
The Independent Disciplinary Committee (IDC) convened in London yesterday to deem his head-high forearm to Simon Zebo warranted a red card, the original two-week ban halved because of his previously clean record.
The IDC judged Sam Cane's knockout blow on Robbie Henshaw as nothing more than accidental.
Meanwhile, forwards coach Simon Easterby rates Australia as a "dangerous" foe for Ireland's final assignment of the November series. The bruised and well-beaten Wallabies from The Rugby Championship have been able to rebuild their confidence in Europe.
"It's exciting in the sense that Australia come here with a bit of a bounce," said Easterby.
Coach Michael Cheika has used this month to take the scalps of Wales, Scotland and, most recently, France.
"They've come over here, they haven't changed too much," said Easterby.
"But, they're playing a brand of rugby which suits their skillset and that makes them a dangerous team."
