Doyle keeps faith in bid to bash Les Bleus

COACH Phillip Doyle has been able to select an unchanged side from the one that had to endure the abandonement of their clash with Wales last week, owing to weather conditions with Ireland leading 11-3.

The decision not to conclude the tie came down to the deterioration of the pitch. It was frozen over in parts. However, there were positives to be taken, none more obvious than the superb individual try by left wing Alison Miller.

Loose-head Fiona Coghlan will lead by example and Doyle will ask his front five for workable ball with which to launch number eight Joy Neville off the base of the scrum. The tactical intelligence of fly-half Lynne Cantwell will count for much against what is sure to be a physical and finely-tuned home side who clipped Italy 32-0 last week.
