Connacht can keep Scarlets in check

It is difficult to recall whether there has been a better time for Connacht.

Heck, the Sky Sports cameras are even showing up in what would previously have been seen as a rugby outpost on the edge of the world.

The Westerners are on a roll.

They have lost one of their last four in the Guinness League and they were able to stay with The Ospreys for a fair while across the water at The Liberty.

They committed to dealing with the dreadful wind and rain at The Sportsground last week in the process of building their second biggest win in the history of the PRO12

Incidentally, they are unbeaten on home turf this season.

The good news keeps on coming. Full-back Daragh Leader and loose-head prop Denis Buckley had two-year contract extensions confirmed yesterday.

When it comes to The Scarlets, Connacht just about have the edge by one point as sixth host seventh.

The Welsh club has won the last five matches between these two, last losing out in Galway back in September 2011.

Their general recent form has been well-above average. They took out Glasgow last week and have tasted the bitter pill just once in their last six.

Verdict: Connacht
