Blackrock camp a huge hit with Blues trio

ATTRACTING more than 60 up-and-coming young players, the Leinster Rugby Halloween Camp in Blackrock College RFC passed off as a great success as Leo Cullen, Jordi Murphy and Brendan Macken visited on the last day of camp.

Participants learned from fully-accredited IRFU coaches and took part in drills, based on improving technical skills, all of course with fun being the main emphasis.

The highlight of the week came on Thursday when three special guests surprised the camp goers. Leo Cullen, Jordi Murphy and Brendan Macken were given the tough task of picking a winner of the camp's fancy dress competition.

After lengthy deliberations, Christian Noughton, seven, was announced as the lucky recipient of a very special Leinster goodie bag.

The campers were given the chance to grill the Leinster players before having an opportunity get autographs from the trio and having their photo taken with the PRO12 Trophy, the Amlin Challenge Cup as well as the British and Irish Cup.

Blackrock College RFC Halloween Camp Manager, Stephen Gore said: "The children came in on Monday morning and from the first activity to the last on Thursday afternoon they played the game in the correct spirit and went home with new skills, smiles on their faces and plenty new friendships."
