Berquist ruled out
Leinster fly-half Mat Berquist has suffered a broken knee cap that will keep him out of the game for the foreseeable future.
Coach Joe Schmidt admitted "bad bruising would be a best case scenario" after the 31-10 win over the Dragons on Friday evening.
A broken patella was quickly diagnosed and Berquist underwent an operation on Saturday.
On a personal level, this is unlucky for Berquist, the former Canterbury Crusaders playmaker, who moved to the northern hemisphere on a one-year contract.
It means that Ian Madigan is the only genuine out-half left in the squad, given that Jonathan Sexton is at the World Cup and Ian McKinley has just recently retired.
This is a serious blow to an already threadbare Leinster squad, with regular full-back Isa Nacewa the only other logical option in a position he has already failed at when he first arrived the province in 2008.
