Belvo face uphill battle for first win

MATCHES Saturday at 2.30, unless stated

Old Belvedere v Clontarf, Anglesea Road

The champions are still looking for their first win of the season in a disastrous turnaround from last season. Their two best number eights, Leo Auva'a and Jack Conan, have been taken by Leinster and Ireland U20s, respectively.

'Tarf will be in no mood to go easy on the home side as they currently hold a home semi-final place and are second in the table. Mick McGrath will start on the wing after his try-scoring return last Saturday.

Dolphin v St Mary's College, Musgrave Park

Peter Smyth's St Mary's hold a precious two-point lead at the top of the table. They are hunting out a ninth consecutive win, their third in Munster.

Cork Constitution v Blackrock College, Temple Hill

Last week's defeat of OB should give 'Rock the impetus to survive for another season. Half-backs Alan MacGinty and Darragh Fitzpatrick must hold their form.

Garryowen v Lansdowne, Dooradoyle

Ireland U20 coach Mike Ruddock will be otherwise engaged in France, leaving Lansdowne to maintain their fourth-place in Limerick. Fly-half and goal-kicker Craig Ronaldson is a doubt.

Bruff v UCD, Kilballyowen Park

This is a difficult assignment for College. They are marooned in mid-table, while making the journey to relegation threatened Bruff. Captain Andy Cummiskey and second row Brian Cawley are back from injury.
