Ardee blitz rivals in Malahide challenge

An U14 blitz was recently held at Malahide Rugby Club in which schools from Ratoath, Ardee and two from Malahide itself competed.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of rugby and it proved particularly fruitful for Mid-Louth's Ardee Community School, who ended up winning all three games. This was a major achievement for the team, which was made up of both club and first-time rugby players.

The team played a particularly exciting brand of rugby and it can only bode well for future challenges. After dispatching both the Malahide schools, it came down to one final shootout against Ratoath, who were also unbeaten. In the end, it was Ardee that prevailed against a tough Ratoath side and the single try they conceded in the final was the only one against them all day.

Training for Ardee RFC is on Wednesday nights at 6.45pm in Ardee Rugby Club (ages 8-14).
