Payday for Supersaints

THE SUPERSAINTS are in the money - and in dreamland - after securing a glamour tie with German side Hannover in the next round of the Europa League, writes Aidan Fitzmaurice.

Last night's 2-1 win over Bosnian outfit Siroki Brijeg, secured with a goal in extra time from Chris Fagan, earned Pat’s a 3-2 aggregate win and tees up a visit to Dublin by Hannover next Thursday, though UEFA regulations will force Pats to move the game from their Richmond Park home to Tallaght Stadium.

That should be a sell-out, with the German club already formally requesting at least 1,500 tickets for their fans. UEFA bonuses, gate receipts and the sale of TV rights to German stations for the home leg could see the Saints pocket at least €200,000.
