Patsy and Phyllis top bill at Naomh Bríd

PATSY Powell and Phyllis Breslin are a couple of swells.

They are two of the sport's most distinguished personalities.

They topped the bill in the St Brigid's celebration on Saturday.

Patsy has won the GAA President's Award, while Phyllis has entered the Dublin Camogie Hall of Fame.

The duo are thrilled to see camogie blooming at Russell Park.

And starting them young is the secret.

"Our nursery runs each Saturday morning for children aged up to seven," explains the club's camogie vice-chairperson, Caroline Bolger.

"From eight years on, they progress to the Tuesday evening training and we have juvenile teams from U8 to U16.

"Saturday was such a wonderful occasion. We had the Blitz for the U8s, 9s and 10s. Then we had the challenge match for the juniors and seniors before the legends game.

"We ended the day with music and dancing in the clubhouse."
