PADRAIG HARRINGTON is convinced he will win more majors - because they are the easiest tournaments to win.
The 40-year-old Dubliner (below) tees off at Royal Lytham and St Anne's today seeking a fourth major and believes it's only a matter of time before he wins one of the 'big four' again.
"I'm not panicking. I know I'm going to win more majors. Call me barmy if you like. But it makes perfect sense to me," he said.
"There are great extremes in golf and the only way to accept them is to believe you are going to win again - but not to presume when."
Recent victories for Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley and Louis Oosthuizen shows that players are winning major tournaments at a younger age but Harrington is not surprised because they are the easiest to win.
"Yes, the youngsters do seem to be able to win majors earlier than they used to.
"But I still believe the majors are the easiest events to win because there are so many players who don't believe they can win," he added.
