Trouble mars Windsor tie

THE PSNI were called into deal with disturbances at last night's Setanta Sports Cup quarter-final second leg clash between Shamrock Rovers and Linfield in Belfast.

Rovers came away from Windsor Park with a 3-1 win on the night, going through 7-2 on aggregate, but local police confirmed that they were called upon to quell trouble in the stands.

"Police dealt with a disturbance in Windsor Park earlier this evening involving a section of Shamrock Rovers fans. Police restored calm within the ground and all fans were able to leave the match safety after the final whistle," said a PSNI statement.
