Ronnie won't panic just yet

SNOOKER: Ronnie O'Sullivan insisted he will not panic over his continued poor form despite crashing out of the Ladbrokes Mobile Masters in the first round to Mark Allen.

O'Sullivan fell 6-4 to the Northern Ireland player at Wembley Arena, a result which followed another first-round exit to Stuart Bingham at the UK Championship last month.

O'Sullivan said: "I'm not too concerned. Obviously it's disappointing to lose in two big tournaments. These are the two you try to do well in at the start of the season and I haven't managed to do it."



Del Potro's comeback is thwarted by Mayer

TENNIS: Former US Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro's comeback from injury faltered today when his lack of match practice was exposed at the Sydney International.

The Argentine declared himself free of pain when he won his first match in a year in three sets on Monday but he was well beaten 6-2 7-5 by Florian Mayer in the second round at the Sydney Olympic Park.



Joyce facing Lamour clash for Miami debut

BOXING: Beijing Olympians Ken Egan and John Joe Joyce have been named in the Miami Gallos side to face Los Angeles Matadors tomorrow night.

Joyce only arrived in Florida on Monday night and is already lined up for a clash with LA middleweight Russell Lamour.



Contador may miss Tour

CYCLING: Alberto Contador is likely to miss this year's Tour de France because of the time the investigation into his positive doping test could take.

Three-times Tour champion Contador is provisionally suspended after failing a dope test during the 2010 race.
