Neptune soar to Eagles win

BASKETBALL: Neptune set aside the disappointment of Friday's derby defeat by UCC Demons to beat Southern Conference rivals UL Eagles 74-67 in the men's SuperLeague bank holiday match-ups yesterday.

"We let ourselves down last night," said coach Mark Scannell.

"We reacted well and now we can look forward to our next game against Belfast Star and, after that, we will have a chance to play Demons in the cup again."

The Demons' challenge in the Southern Conference continues to gather momentum after they beat Moycullen 88-65.



Tendulkar falls short in ton bid
