SPAIN'S Pablo Larrazabal played a flawless round to take a one-shot lead on the opening day of the Lyoness Open in Aztenbrugg, Austria.
Larrazabal fired four birdies and an eagle on the par-five 13th in his first nine holes at Diamond Country Club, before adding two more birdies for a round of eight-under 64.
"I'm happy to finally make some putts," Larrazabal said."
A lengthy rain break meant several players were unable to complete their opening rounds. Thorbjorn Olesen is one of those players. He lay one shot off the lead through 14 holes before play was halted.
Thomas Levet had also completed 14 holes and lay in a tie for third with Wil Besseling, with the pair two off the leader.
Offaly's Shane Lowry shot a two under par 70, with Damien McGrane a further shot behind. Waterville's David Higgins was set to finish his round today lying on three under after 12 holes.
