If a road running league based on the best races in the country was set up, then the Dunshaughlin 10km would definitely be on the list.
In a quality race last Saturday, Mark Christie of Mullingar missed out on the men's course record by a single second to finish in 29 mins 22 secs and was chased hard by Mick Clohisey of Raheny who finished five seconds adrift. Clonliffe's Mark Kennally finished third.
Leevale's Lizzie Lee (pictured) was first woman with her time of 33 mins 13 secs, breaking her own course record. Second was Barbara Sanchez of Raheny racing for the first time in a while. Great running by all.
