Guy's point is well made as TT ace sees red on false flag day
TEMPERS flared for a second day running at the Isle of Man TT with Guy Martin again a central figure.
This time the star of TT all-action movie Closer To The Edge was left angry at a false flag incident that may have cost him victory in the rain delayed Supersport race.
Lincolnshire rider Martin (29), on board the Ulster-based TAS team's Relentless Suzuki, slowed down on sighting a red warning flag at Union Mills, believing the race was being stopped.
But it was a false alarm and Martin, who finished third, later rapped: "That's going to have to be looked at. It needs sorting before we go any further. Mistakes do happen but that was a fairly big one."
Free spirit Martin, usually the last to complain, clearly felt the point needed to be made after also criticising the attempt to run the race in treacherous conditions the day before.
Fellow Lincolnshire rider Gary Johnson took victory with John McGuinness second.
