Gonzalo's out to tame Tiger

GOLF: Spain's Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano fancies the idea of being a 'Tiger tamer' at this week's WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship where he will meet three-time winner Tiger Woods in the opening round.

Fernandez-Castano, ranked 48th in the world, has never played in the company of Woods and said that while it was a privilege to be drawn against him in the Arizona desert, the 14-time major champion was beatable.

"I'm the underdog, I have nothing to lose," he said.

"He's probably not at his best. Maybe I can beat him. That would be a great feeling."

Morgan eager to get among runs

CRICKET: A third century in four attempts for captain Alastair Cook would be just the ticket for England today as they seek to complete a 4-0 one-day international series whitewash over Pakistan.

For Eoin Morgan, though, there might just be some mixed feelings if Cook hogs the limelight again after scores of 137, 102 and 80 so far.

Dubliner Morgan could do with some time in the middle, after a run of low score in the 3-0 Test series whitewash.

"I've had my pads on to bat at three for the first three games, because we like the right-left-hand combinations, especially when there's two spinners on," said Morgan. "It's just been that Cookie's been in unbelievable form, and I haven't got a bat."

Tuilagi returns to England training

RUGBY: Manu Tuilagi will return to full training with England today, hoping that he can persuade Stuart Lancaster that he is the answer to unlocking a fierce Welsh backline that will provide the interim head coach with the biggest test of his reign so far.

The Welsh go into this weekend's clash as odds-on favourites, so Lancaster could add some beef to his backline by recalling the Leicester man.

D'Arcy's cleared

SWIMMING: Swimmer Nick D'Arcy, who was expelled from the Australian team for the Beijing Olympics for assaulting a team-mate, was given the all clear to compete for selection for this year's London Olympics.

NBA: Chicago 90 Atlanta 79, NY Knicks 92 New Jersey 100, Houston 97 Memphis 93, Milwaukee 90 Orlando 93, Dallas 89 Boston 73, Oklahoma City 101 New Orleans 93, Denver 103 Minnesota 101 (OT), Phoenix 104 Washington 88, Utah 102 San Antonio 106, Golden State 104 LA Clippers 9.
