Gillick pulls out of Geneva with niggling injury
FEARS over David Gillick's fitness continue after the world 400m finalist, who was due to start his Olympic qualification bid in Geneva tomorrow having struggled recently with injury, pulled out with a niggle.
Most of Ireland's other top sprinters are racing in Geneva, while the Irish women's 4x400m team race in Bydgoszcz, Poland, on Sunday.
They need a top-12 ranking to make the Olympics and their current two-run aggregate of 6:58.73 makes them 12th, ahead of France (6:59.15) and Turkey (6:59.54).
Also on Sunday, Kelly Proper competes in the long jump in Switzerland.
