Bikes are back at Newbridge
Newbridge CC have teamed up with the Bell Yard Pub in Monasterevin to get the bikes back in competition this season.
They have added an extra bow to proceedings by also organising a fun run in conjunction with the bike race.
From nine o'clock tomorrow, Monasterevin will be the focal point for the two-wheeler brigade.
The wheels will whirl into action shortly after mid-day for the racing fraternity for the 43 miles in an event that will cater for all categories (except underage). It will also be handicapped.
Both the racers and the leisure cyclists will travel the same route over 43 miles.
Whereas the racing fraternity will be in no mood to take in the scenery, the wheel in front will be their radar to keep out of trouble.
The starting point will be in Monasterevin, Ballybrittas, Portlaoise, Stradbally, Athy, Kildangan, Kildare where there is a prime, Cherryville, Monasterevin.
All the proceeds of the day go to REHAB.
As regards the winner, I would be leaning in favour of Robin Kelly from Waterford.
