Belgrove poised to topple Orchard

The Senior Division title chase and a couple of hugely important FAI Intermediate Cup replays take the lead role on tomorrow's LSL agenda.

In the Inter Cup, Cherry Orchard head to Whitehall to take on Belgrove after their stalemate in Ballyfermot last weekend, while Sacred Heart will take a trip to Cork to hook up with Youghal United again.

In the top flight, Bluebell United go looking to protect their three-point lead at the top of the table when they take on struggling Mount Merrion at the Red Cow.

All of the bottom four are in action as are title chasers Wayside Celtic, who face Firhouse Clover for the third time this season at Jackson Park.

The game of the day, though, will be in Whitehall when Belgrove and Cherry Orchard renew rivalries, but this time the safety net of a replay has been removed.

The Grove will be looking to close out the deal this Sunday after taking the lead in the first fixture at Elm Dale. A first-half strike handed Rocky O'Brien's side a half-time lead and the Senior Division side could have pulled further away.

It was the Division 1 side, though, that hit back after the break and the Orchard managed to draw level and force the game into a replay.

Tomorrow, though, there is no second chances. This could be a long day for both sides. It could go all the way and in the end it will take something special to separate these pair.

FAI Inter Cup Quarter-Final Replays

BELGROVE v CHERRY ORCHARD

The Senior Division side has hit a bit of a slump in the last while after a positive start to the year. Still, despite losing in midweek, the Grove can pick themselves up and edge out the Division 1 side in what could well be an epic battle.

Verdict: Home Win

YOUGHAL UNITED v SACRED HEART

The Hearts will be kicking themselves that they failed to do the job at the first time of asking and this trip to Cork could be a trip too far.

Verdict: Home Win

Senior Division

WAYSIDE CELTIC v FIRHOUSE CLOVER

The Celts have already defeated Clover twice this season, once in the league as well as a Cahill Cup victory. The Tallaght side ran Celtic close in that cup game, Peter Lennon's side needed a couple of extra-time goals to kill off Clover, and Peter Flood's side will be looking to throw a speed bump in front of the hosts' title charge. Clover are in a perilous position in the table and will have it all to do against Wayside tomorrow.

Verdict: Home Win.

DUBLIN BUS v PHOENIX

Bottom of table Dublin Bus will get little change out of Phoenix. The 'Nix are well up the table and they should add to the Coldcut club's woes.

Verdict: Home Win.

BLUEBELL UNITED v MOUNT MERRION

The league leaders will be expected to take care of Mount Merrion with relative ease tomorrow at the Red Cow. The 'Bell were dumped out of the FAI Intermediate Cup last weekend and James Keddy will be looking for his side to pick themselves up off the floor and take care of a Merrion side that is at the wrong end of the table.

Verdict: Home Win

CRUMLIN UNITED v DROGHEDA TOWN

Crumlin may be a fair few points off the pace, but if Martin Loughran's side can win their back matches they will be within striking distance of the front runners. Crumlin have been preoccupied with cup action over the past few weeks, but they should get their title defence back on track with a win over struggling Drogheda.

Verdict: Home Win
