Tieldt, West Flanders, was the place to be this week as this year's line-up for Seán Kelly's An Post team was revealed.
Their reputation as a solid, aggressive team recently saw them invited to the prestigious Tours of Qatar and Oman, where they punched above their weight.
An Post had riders in the breakaways on almost every stage of both races and took top-10 placings with Belgian riders Niko Eeckhout and Pieter Ghyllebert.
Mark Cassidy, Sam Bennett, Philip Lavery and Ronan McLaughlin are the four Irish riders on the 16-man An Post team.
Team manager Kurt Bogaerts hopes they can keep the early season momentum going, admitting that results have been better than he expected.
They are back in action with a double-header this weekend, at the Beverbeek Classic (1.2) today and the Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne (1.1) tomorrow.
"Our 2011 race schedule is now complete and we will be returning to Ireland for the Rás on May 22," said team director Seán Kelly.
The An Post-sponsored team was set up by Sean Kelly six years ago as an extension of the Sean Kelly Academy to give young Irish cyclists a base from which to compete in Belgium, as well as access to a programme of top international races.
