Mobhi men stay hot on heels of Tarf

NA FIANNA kept up their pursuit of Clontarf at the top of AFL3 thanks to an impressive 1-14 to 1-7 victory over local rivals 
St Vincent's on Saturday evening at St Mobhi Road.

It means the Glasnevin men remain just two points behind Clontarf, after the leaders made in 10 wins from 10 by easliy accounting for St Mark's, 
1-15 to 0-7.

It was also a big weekend for Garda who are third in the table with hard-fought victory over Whitehall Colmcille in Cloghran.

Centre-back Richie Lynch was arguably man of the match kicking a number of vital frees, while behind him, Dinny Ellard and Peter O'Brien proved formidable obstacles for the Whitehall attack.

Up front, Brian Daly and Kenny Clints were a contstant menace, as last year's AFL4 winners placed themselves firmly in the play-off chase.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the table, Naomh Fionnbarra picked up a vital two points -and leapfrogged St Sylvester's in the process - after they secured a 2-15 to 2-8 victory over the Malahide men in Broomfield.

Ryan Curley and Sean Murphy got the goals for the Cabra lads, who have promoted a number of last year's minor team to the senior ranks. Lee Cooney, Shane Kelly and Thomas Gleeson all caught the eye.

Midfield duo Ger O'Reilly and Anthony Costello were also impressive while centre-back Sean MacDonnacha continued his rich vein of form with a powerful display at the heart of the winners' defence.

Eslewhere, Ballyboden St Enda's remain winless after they fell 0-13 to 0-11 to St Brigid's.

In AFL4, leaders 
Ballymun Kickhams were given their toughest challenge to date as they eventually saw off the dogged challenge of Parnell's in Chanel Park, 1-14 to 1-7, thus keeping their 100pc record intact.

But remaining hot on their heels are Good Counsel, who also maintained their perfect winning streak thanks to a resounding 4-13 to 0-9 result against O'Dwyer's to give their score difference a vital boost as the promotion chase hots up.
