LIMERICK FC midfielder Lee-J Lynch has become the first Airtricity League player to secure a move abroad for 2015 after he signed up with in-form SPL side Hamilton Academical, writes Aidan Fitzmaurice.
Home-based players like Richie Towell, Eoin Wearen and Rory Gaffney have already been on trial with clubs in Britain since the end of the 2014 season but Lynch is the first one to complete his move.
A former trainee with West Brom, Lynch has agreed terms with Hamilton - currently just two points off top spot in the SPL - after spells with Sligo Rovers, St Patrick's Athletic and hometown club Limerick.
"I've no doubt that he will have a hugely successful career with Hamilton and represent his family and the people of Limerick with pride and passion on an international stage," said Limerick chairman Pat O'Sullivan.
Meanwhile, Derry City have continued their squad building for next season as midfielder Mark Timlin has agreed a new deal with the Candystripes.
