Larkin girls are one step away from final dream

LARKIN Community College have a Leinster Girls' Senior 'B' Cup final in their sights.

The Dublin side came away from a dramatic clash at city rivals New Cross College with a 5-4 victory in the first round to set-up a semi-final clash with Coláiste Eoin, Hacketstown.

The Senior 'B' competition is for schools with smaller numbers, meaning there are less entrants than the Senior Cup.

Larkin's success at Under-17 level last year meant they were able to register a senior girls side for this campaign, but they got off to a rocky start.

By half-time in Cappagh they were 3-0 down to the hosts and staring elimination in the face.

However, a spirited showing and second-half goals from Shauna Mitchell (2), Cassidy Conlan, Nicole Maher and Jessica Ziu sent them into the final four.
