What is Greatwood Charity?
lGreatwood was founded in 1990 and is a charity based in Wiltshire in England. The charity was originally set up for the rehabilitation of racehorses but since 2006 the Greatwood Horse Power initiative was created to specifically deal with children with special needs.
lGreatwood now excels in the best of both those worlds and is a major source of comfort for parents of children who have been brought back to the joys of life through their relationship with re-homed horses.
lWhat your donation does for Greatwood ...
3£5 pays for a body brush for the horse. Brushing a horse makes both the child and the horse feel at ease with each other on what is often their first interaction.
3£9 pays for a bag of feed to nurture the neglected horses that arrive on site extremely malnourished.
3£17 pays for a Tetanus injection. Tetanus is a bacterial infection, which can be fatal, and the injection helps prevent the bacterial disease.
3£30 pays for a helmet for the kids for their safety around the horses.
3£49 is the cost of a Horse Power session. Greatwood does not charge for the session but £49 covers the cost for each child for their tailor-made sessions.
