Ted Walsh believes that many people were wrongly singling out the running of the Cheltenham Festival for criticism in recent months.
Racing's image was dragged through the mud over the Festival going ahead at the Cotswolds in March amid the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic and Walsh is amazed that other sporting events escaped similar criticism.
"It was an easy thing to bash around, everyone was bashing it. There were soccer matches on that week that had more people there than Cheltenham but because it's the working man's game, no one said boo," Walsh said.
"But Cheltenham is supposed to be the upper class fella, so bang at him as much as you can. I didn't hear Mary Lou (McDonald) or any of them giving out about the soccer matches that were on or the Labour Party in England but they were all quick to throw their cap at Cheltenham."
