Sizing Europe to go the distance

Henry de Bromhead yesterday took his stable star Sizing Europe out of the Gold Cup and Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham next month and revealed that last year's Arkle winner would contest the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

The nine-year-old was beaten last time on his return to the minimum trip at Punchestown in the Tied Cottage Chase behind Golden Silver and Big Zeb, however connections feel he is better targeted at the trip which secured him a deserved first Festival win last year.

"He looks well and he always comes to himself in the spring. He's going back to two miles, to what we know he's good at.

"He's spot on and we're really looking forward to it now," said the Waterford trainer.
