Powell can Wreake havoc with Athletic effort at Leicester

Athletic is a thoroughly consistent performer and he can land another deserved success in the Wreake Handicap at Leicester.

Andrew Reid's charge has not been out of the first four in his last 15 outings and while that has ensured the handicapper has given him little respite, Athletic has kept answering every question with his laudable efforts.

He has four wins to his credit this year which has seen his mark soar from a lowly 64 to his present perch of 87, and he does not appear to have finished improving yet.

Jenny Powell has struck up an excellent rapport with the gelding and her 5lb claim is another positive factor.

Johnny Barnes failed to make the expected impact at Goodwood last time out but can make amends in the Wymeswold Conditions Stakes.

Speedy Boarding boasts a fine pedigree hailing from the family of Milligram and can make an immediate impression in the first division of the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes.

Exotic Guest has been racking up the places this term but can enjoy his moment in the sun in the Division Two of the Bootneck 350 Tartan Handicap at Newcastle.

Snapped up by Ruth Carr for just 6,000 guineas at the end of last term, the four-year-old has more than paid his way in a busy 2014 campaign which totals one win and a handful of third spots.

If he can be kept on the straight and narrow, Exotic Guest is not one to dismiss lightly.

Meteoroid showed some decent form as a juvenile, most notably when chasing home Bow Creek last September, but he has been disappointing to date this term.

However, a switch to Wolverhampton's Tapeta surface for the second division of the Download The Free App At bookies.com Handicap could be just what he needs to arrest his slide.

He has not been seen since finishing third at Leicester in June and should be nicely refreshed for this task.

Bertie's Desire is the pick in the Weatherbys Hamilton Insurance Novices' Limited Handicap Chase at Huntingdon.

A winner at both Huntingdon and Kempton earlier in the year, Oliver Sherwood's runner has been off the track since finishing second at Towcester back in May.

He ran an excellent race in defeat that day and should again go well as he returns to action.

A recent Warwick second should have put Carrigmorna King spot on for the ERS Medical Handicap Chase.
