Obstacles for Minsk

DESSIE HUGHES will begin the hurdling career of Minsk at Fairyhouse tomorrow as he faces nine rivals in the Grade Two Winning Fair Juvenile Hurdle.

The former John Oxx trained four-year-old has been a prominent figure in the betting for next month’s Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival since joining Hughes, but hasn’t been seen since winning on the flat in October when having his first start for new owner Barry Connell.

Willie Mullins is represented by both Midnight Oil and Loch Ard in the Grade Two contest.

Alfa Beat, meanwhile, tops the ratings of the eight runners declared for the At The Races Bobbyjo Chase.
