O'Brien can nab double with Will Be King and Dark Vader

Dundalk host their penultimate pre-Christmas fixture this evening and one of the leading trainers of 2019, Joseph O'Brien, can land at least a double on the card.

Recent winners WILL BE KING (7.00, Dundalk) and DARK VADER (7.30, Dundalk) both look up to scoring again.

Conditions of the Crowne Plaza Apprentice Rated Race look ideal for Will Be King, who also has the valuable 4lb claim of Dylan Browne McMonagle, as the three-year-old looks to make it two on the bounce.

The handicapper awarded Dark Vader a rating of 91 for his maiden victory here three weeks ago and that looks well above any of his seven rivals in the Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk Race.

Elsewhere on the card, ULTRA PRIDE (5.30, Dundalk) and RED AVENGER (6.00, Dundalk) would look two other good bets on the card.

Meanwhile, Jessica Harrington would be a much less frequent visitor across the Irish Sea than her stable jockey Robbie Power but the pair will look to land a nice pot at Newbury today for the second year running.

Magic Of Light beat four rivals when winning the listed Thoroughbred Breeders Association Mares' Chase 12 months ago and the Grand National runner-up has one less to beat this time around and is officially rated 20lb higher on this occasion.

Harrington, who is eyeing a return to Aintree for the eight-year-old, said: "She's a real flag-bearer for us now and looks well treated on the figures, but she's got to go and do it."

"She's in great form at home, we've managed to get a run over hurdles into her and it's all part of the plan.

"Obviously we're hoping to take her back to Aintree, how we get there I don't know yet.

"We might go somewhere at Christmas, there's Ascot in January, there's a race at Huntingdon or she could go to Cheltenham.

"She ran a lot of times last year and really thrives for it. She's versatile, we can go over hurdles or fences and there's plenty of options for the mares, there's a great programme for them."
