Murphy: Zeb not done yet

COLM MURPHY feels there are still many more races to be won with Big Zeb -- although he is highly unlikely to scale the heights of his greatest success in the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

The 11-year-old took the two-mile showpiece in 2010, was second 12 months ago, and third behind Finian's Rainbow in Wednesday's latest renewal.

"Everyone wants to win, but, on reflection, he ran a blinder," the Co Wexford trainer said.

"Unfortunately he's not getting any younger.

"This is probably his last season at this level at this place (Cheltenham), but there's plenty of races to be mopped up with him.

"We'll just keep tipping away with him."

Bet makes lad a 'millionaire'

A stable lad belonging to the Nicky Henderson stable has won around £1million in an accumulator bet on five of the yard's runners at the Cheltenham Festival this week, it has been reported.

The bet was said to have been placed with Bet365 late last year, when the odds would have been much bigger, and featured Sprinter Sacre on Tuesday, Simonsig, Finian's Rainbow and Bobs Worth on Wednesday, and Riverside Theatre yesterday.

Bet365 were unable to confirm the bet, but Pat Cooney, a spokesman for the firm, was quoted as saying: "This one particular customer has had an extremely good time of it."

Vendor's still a prospect: King

Trainer Alan King believes there will be other days for Vendor after the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle favourite could only finish third.

Having lost his position coming down the hill, the grey flashed home, but not as quick as winner Une Artiste.

"Vendor is still a baby and still learning," said King.

"He has never been crowded like that in a pack, and you could see him looking a bit timid for a stride or two, though I was pleased that he finished off his race so well.

"It's always a bit of a choker to have one you fancy strongly and who starts favourite get beaten, but Vendor is a smashing long-term prospect and one for the future."
