Moore starts Ballydoyle role in first Classic trials
Ryan Moore will begin his official role as Ballydoyle's number one rider at Leopardstown tomorrow with the current 4/1 Epsom Derby favourite, John F Kennedy, the pick of his rides.
On Thursday Aidan O'Brien confirmed that Moore (right) would be riding all the major horses from the powerful outfit this season and he will be involved in each of the three Classic trials at the opening Leopardstown meeting of the flat season.
Moore's last visit to Leopardstown was a memorable one as he excelled on The Grey Gatsby to collar Ballydoyle's Australia in the Irish Champion Chase and in the Ballysax Stakes tomorrow he looks to have a pretty straightforward assignment with John F Kennedy priced up by bookmakers Paddy Power at 1/10.
There'll be a strong presence of British based jockeys riding at Leopardstown tomorrow as Andrea Atzeni takes rides for Johnny Murtagh and Ger Lyons in his role for Qatar Racing, while Godolphin's retained rider James Doyle will ride for Michael Halford and Willie McCreery and Jamie Spencer is also over for Champion Stakes winning trainer Kevin Ryan.
Meanwhile, on the flat today at Gowran Park, Cheltenham Festival winner Windsor Park runs in the finale this afternoon for Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen.
