Grands Crus has taste of winner

WILLIE MULLINS supporters will be hoping to leave Cheltenham with bulging pockets later this evening following the likes of Hurricane Fly, Quevega and Scotsirish, but Allee Garde is one to get us off to a good start on day two.

2.05 Neptune Investments Novices' Hurdle

A tricky race in which Simonsig is given the nod over Irish raider Monksland, as Nicky Henderson's charge has been very impressive and easy on the eye when winning this season and he could well be a star of the future. However, Benefficeint is a Grade One winner and shouldn't be discounted.

OVERPRICED: Benefficeint

BETTING: Simonsig 5/2, Monksland 5/1, Sous Les Cieux 7/1, Make Your Mark 8/1, Batonnier 8/1, Cotton Mill 16/1, Benefficient 20/1, Mount Benbulben 25/1, Felix Yonger 25/1, Simenon 25/1, Sword Of Destiny 25/1, Knight Pass 33/1, Natural High 33/1, Nelsons Bridge 33/1, Marasonnien 40/1, Secret Edge 40/1, Aikideau 50/1, Close House 50/1, Double Ross 50/1, Jimbill 50/1, Nagpur 50/1, Poole Master 50/1, Sunny Ledgend 50/1, Theatre Guide 50/1, The Tracey Shuffle 50/1, Veratan 50/1, Fiulin 66/1, Go All The Way 66/1, Ohio Gold 66/1, The Druids Nephew 66/1, Baldadash 100/1, Super Villan 100/1, Brass Tax 100/1

2.40 RSA Chase

GrandS Crus has been confirmed now for this race and should be hard to beat as it has cut up a bit. Bobs Worth is one to oppose in the race for me, but First Lieutenant is an each-way bet to nothing.

SELECTION: Grands Crus

OVERPRICED: Call The Police

BETTING: Grands Crus 7/4, Bobs Worth 3/1, Sir Des Champs 4/1, First Lieutenant 5/1, Join Together 6/1, Lambro 20/1, Call The Police 25/1, Mr Moonshine 33/1, Walkon 33/1, Mossley 40/1, Cannington Brook 40/1, Saint Are 50/1, Gift Of Dgab 50/1, Benbane Head 66/1

3.20 Champion Chase

This one looks pretty straight forward for Sizing Europe and the roar could be deafening if that's how it transpires. He appears to be coming here in at least as good form as last year and once he is that, he will win.

SELECTION: Sizing Europe

BETTING: Sizing Europe 10/11, Finians Rainbow 4/1, Big Zeb 9/2, Kauto Stone 16/1, Wishful Thinking 16/1, Realt Dubh 25/1, Gauvain 33/1, I'm So Lucky 50/1

5.15 Champion Bumper

A very wide-open race as always, and this is a race that more often than not tends to throw up a decent priced winner. Clonbanan Lad is one at a big price that could run a big race although good ground is a concern, but New Year's Eve looks good and the one to beat.

Selection: New Year's Eve

Overpriced: Clonbanan Lad

BETTING: Moscow Mannon 6/1, New Year's Eve 6/1, Royal Guardsman 7/1, Champagne Fever 8/1, Pique Sous 10/1, The New One 14/1, Jezki 14/1, Sir Johnson 16/1, Population 16/1, Clonbanan Lad 16/1, Village Vic 16/1, Many Clouds 16/1, Horatio Hornblower 16/1, Circular Quay 25/1, Il Presidente 25/1, Yes Way Hosay 25/1, Cool George 25/1, Virginia Ash 25/1, Chain Reactor 33/1, Ifandbutwhynot 33/1, The Romford Pele 50/1, Glenwood Present 100/1, Piano Concerto 100/1
