Conan heading for Leopardstown

Nicky Henderson’s Captain Conan has been supplemented for Sunday’s Deloitte Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown.

The French recruit already has a Grade One win to his name, beating Colour Squadron by a short head on his British debut in the Tolworth Hurdle.

Henderson (pictured) said: “He worked very well and I spoke to Barry (Geraghty) and he said why not give it a go, so the plan is to run.

“He is a lovely big horse and he is a real chaser in the making, but there is nothing coming up for him over here so I supplemented him.

“We could run him in an ordinary race with a Grade One penalty and not find out a great deal, so we’ll let him take his chance and that will tell where he’ll go.

“He is a great big horse and he has already won a Grade One at home, so it will be interesting to see how he fares.”

Willie Mullins is responsible for three of the 10 entries, including another French import, Terminal, who looked smart on his bow in a maiden hurdle at Navan.

Stablemate Sous Les Cieux recorded a success at the top level in the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse, while Midnight Game beat Dylan Ross at Naas recently.

Edward O’Grady’s Cash And Go is unbeaten in three over timber. The field is completed by Benefficient and Dedigout, Il Fenomeno, Lord Windermere and Burn And Turn.
