Bubbly is bidding to toast glory at Festival

BUBBLY BELLINI is set to make a swift return to action at Galway next week following his big-race success at the Curragh on Sunday.

The five-year-old landed the five-furlong Rockingham Handicap for his Lusk-based handler, adding to two wins at Limerick and one at Sligo last month.

Trainer Adrian McGuinness is now eyeing a step back up in trip for the richly endowed Ladbrokes Mobile App Handicap on Saturday week.

He said: "Bubbly Bellini goes for the seven-furlong race at Galway on the Saturday.

"We were delighted with his win on Sunday. I won it a few years ago and thought that you needed a horse that got six furlongs to win it.

"He has just kept on improving. He's won on the all-weather and on soft, he handles most ground.

"He wouldn't want it rock hard but he's not likely to get that at Galway with the weather the way it is."

McGuinness is anticipating a busy week at the seven-day extravaganza, with plenty of runners in the pipeline.

He added: "We could run Toufan Express and Beau Michael will probably run twice, on the flat over a mile and a half on the Friday and over hurdles on the Wednesday.

"We could also run Night Singer in a mile handicap and could have a two-year-old to run as well.

"It will be a hectic but enjoyable week."
