Tribes to sink Saffrons

GALWAY should win here but then again, the amount of times Galway should have won qualifiers they never managed to beggars belief.

The stats are damning. The Tribesmen have won just one out of seven qualifiers post their 2001 Sam Maguire back door odyssey.

And while Alan Mulholland's appointment was tipped to spawn a new era of Galway flintiness, their Connacht semi-final defeat by Sligo threw up plenty of the defects of yore.

Niall Coleman's injury doesn't help after he picked up a knock described by Mulholland as "a freak" when he chipped his knee of the studs of a team-mate in training.

Fiontán Ó Cuarraoin and Conor Doherty are, however, fit to resume after missing the Sligo game.

Antrim don't have a forward really capable to posting similar numbers to Galway's prolific Adrian Marren.

It won't be comfortable but it should, at least, be a Galway win.
