TOMÁS Ó FLATHARTA has implied that he was left with little option but to resign as Laois football manager.
"We're out of the championship and, as a manager, I take full responsibility for that. There is more than the manager involved in these decisions," the Kerry native said.
When asked if the county board effectively pushed him out, he reiterated: "There is more than just the manager involved ... and when there is more than the one person involved in it, that dictates the timing and the outcome."
Asked if players had a say, Ó Flatharta told RTÉ: "Whether their voice was listened to, or whether it was ignored in this situation - probably more of the latter."
