Tipp can take wind out of Rebels' sails

ALLIANZ NATIONAL HURLING LEAGUE DIVision 1A

TIPPERARY v CORK

(Thurles, Tomorrow, 2.30, Live TG4)

THERE is a light hue of optimism in the air in Tipperary which, given how they started the League in Nowlan Park, seemed unthinkable not too long ago, writes Conor McKeon.

The return of frontliners John O'Brien, Paul Curran, Conor O'Mahony and Brendan Cummins sincerely strengthens their hands for the visit of Cork, for whom the optimism is bursting its banks at the moment.

Nothing like the return of an icon to rise all the boats in the Cork hurling fleet and JBM's resumption in the dugout has done just that. They won't or don't lack for confidence in the Rebel County and victory against Kilkenny last week will only fuel their belief that rebuilding periods are for other teams and that they stand on the brink of something big.

ODDS: Tipp 4/6, Draw 9/1, Cork 6/4

VERDICT: Tipperary
